Hi Grant, I think we all agree that mpd needs 24 bit support. But same problem here: I have no hardware, and I do not plan to buy a new sound card anytime soon, because my current hardware works well enough. I'm not interested in payment for working on open source, but if somebody sent me a capable sound card, I'd volunteer to get it done.
