No, a true muslim loves the Prophet more than he loves himself.
So protesting those who insults him is a good deed.

However :

1. The key is in the execution - HOW we do the protest. At the moment, some of
the protests are pretty much angry mobs, who disobey various rules in Islam in
their demonstration.

2. There were many disinformation and false accusations done by "Islamic
Society of Denmark" (OSD)
See :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jyllands-Posten_Muhammad_cartoons#Rumours_and_misinformation

As we speak; at best, people are laughing to our naiveness. At worst, people
are very unhappy with the false accusations. Overall, these OSD actions doesn't
help to make the image of Islam better.
I hope somebody will be brave enough to sue them and correct these.

3. And we should use this event to look inside as well - how are we doing so
far ? Not too good, according to an ulama; he reminded us that Muslims have
actually insulted the Prophet for decades now -- by not doing their obligations
(prayers, fasting, zakat, etc), lying, taking other people's belonging
(especially the powerful ones): basically, ignoring the commands from the
Prophet.

While we protest the insult done by that newspaper, we also need to strive to
not do that ourselves. If not, that means we have just fulfilled the criteria
of being a hypocrite. Which, I'm sure, nobody wants to.

Harry
