Mumbai : Videos of execution of hostages in Iraq, documents about jehad, Sonia
Gandhi, CRPF in Kashmir, destruction of temples and press statements about the
Amarnath Yatra, these are samples from a wide range of content stored on the
laptops of Hindu monk Sudhakar Dwivedi, one of the key accused in the Malegaon
bomb blast case, and presented as evidence by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism
Squad (ATS).
The chargesheet filed by the ATS in the Special MCOCA court on Tuesday lists 62
audio and video files as evidence among 133 documents found on four laptops of
the monk who was arrested from Uttar Pradesh. Maharashtra Police sources had
earlier said the most crucial among these were audio and video recordings
Dwivedi allegedly made of the meetings where the conspiracy to bomb Malegaon on
September 29 was hatched and discussed.
But the other content is also considered to be inflammatory and the
prosecution expects this will buttress its case, said Public Prosecutor Rohini
Salian. The Indian Express accessed the list of files on the laptops mentioned
in the chargesheet and it includes Quran Manual of Jihad, CIA-beheading (in
Iraq), Videos of hostages, Iraq execution, 2004 beheading of British
hostage Ken Bingsley in Iraq, Shameful admission of Islam, Press release of
the Amar Nath Yatra, Sachchar Implementation report, Godhra case details,
one GB data on Antonia Maina alias Sonia Gandhi, The Indian Constitution,
Press release on Sadhvi, and a file named Sadhvi Narco test what for.
The list also includes powerpoint presentations of Abhinav Bharat, the Students
Islamic Movement of India, ISI, Amaranth videos, video clips on Nepal, the
Kurds, text files about Muhammed, Secular India. Jihad, Ramsetu, Know Allah,
Islamic hell for unbelievers, Reason for Islamic terrorism, Darul
Ulum-fatwa, Converted Kashmir, Atank ke karan, Know Sonia, Why Islam,
Temple destruction by Aurangjeb, KGB agents in India, Destruction of
temples by Muslims in all parts, Kafirs in Islam, Bharat me dharma ka
matalab, and CRPF in Kashmir.
Some of the material, particularly those referring to alleged atrocities by
Muslims against Hindus, were used during meetings to incite and indoctrinate
new recruits, the ATS has alleged. For instance, one five-minute video clip
allegedly shows Muslims slitting the throats of Hindus and the group, which
included arrested Lt. Col. Prasad Purohit, apparently discusses the clip after
it is shown and say how hindus do not react to such incidents.
We had procured hours of clips of meetings and other powerpoint presentations
from Dwivedis laptops. We have tried to put together everything which seems of
serious nature and which are inflammatory, Salian told The Indian Express.
Other inputs are saved in the hard disk and will be produced before the court
to avoid any allegations against the investigating agency.
Dwivedis lawyer Kishore Vig, however, contested the ATS argument saying none
of the contents of the laptop were illegal. Only by procuring certain
documents the police cannot call it inflammatory. Things that seem inflammatory
to one person need not be inflammatory to another. We are sure none of these
are banned and my client has full rights to read any document available in the
public domain, he told The Indian Express.
