The Book Pertaining to Paradise, Its Description, Its Bounties and Its
Intimates (Kitab Al-Jannat wa Sifat Na'imiha wa Ahliha)
Muslim :: Book 40 : Hadith 6809
Abu Huraira radiallahtalanhu reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him)
as saying: Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, created Adam in His own image with
His length of sixty cubits, and as He created him He told him to greet that
group, and that was a party of angels sitting there, and listen to the response
that they give him, for it would form his greeting and that of his offspring.
He then went away and said: Peace be upon you! They (the angels) said: May
there be peace upon you and the Mercy of Allah, and they made an addition of"
Mercy of Allah". So he who would get into Paradise would get in the form of
Adam[alai salaam], his length being sixty cubits, then the people who followed
him continued to diminish in size up to this day.
The Book of Virtue, Good Manners and Joining of the Ties of Relationship (Kitab
Al-Birr was-Salat-I-wa'l-Adab)
Muslim :: Book 32 : Hadith 6325
This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Abu Huraira
radiallahtalanhu and in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Ibn Hatim
Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) is reported to have said: When any one
of you fights with his brother, he should avoid his face for Allah created Adam
in His own image.
What is meant, according to the scholars, is that Allaah created Adam with the
ability to hear and see, and to speak when he wants. These are also attributes
of Allaah, for He is All-Hearing, All-Seeing, and He speaks when He wants, and
He has a Face, may He be glorified and exalted.
But it does not mean that there is any resemblance or likeness. Rather the
image of Allaah is different from that of created beings. What is meant is that
He is All-Hearing, All-Seeing, and He speaks when He wants, and He created Adam
also able to hear and see, with a face and hands and feet. But man’s hearing is
not like Allaah’s hearing, his seeing is not like Allaah’s seeing, his speaking
is not like Allaah’s speaking. Rather Allaah has attributes that befit His
majesty and might, and man has attributes that befit him, attributes that are
finite and imperfect, whereas the attributes of Allaah are perfect, with no
shortcomings, infinite and without end. Hence Allaah says (interpretation of
the meaning):
“There is nothing like Him, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer”
[al-Shoora 42:11]
“And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him”
[al-Ikhlaas 112:4]
So it is not permissible to strike the face .

and Honor and likewise my exit by the Gate of Truth and Honor; and grant me
from Thy Presence an authority to aid (me)."

Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 2482 Narrated by AbuHurayrah (May Allah be pleased
with him)
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) used to say, " O Allah, grant me benefit
in what Thou hast taught me, teach me what will benefit me, and increase my
knowledge. Praise be to Allah in all circumstances. I seek refuge in Allah from
the state of those who go to Hell."
Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it, Tirmidhi saying this is a tradition
whose isnad is gharib.
