Hadith

Sayyiduna Anas ibne-Malik (RadhiAllaho anho) narrates
that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:

He who says (the following words)
at the time of going out of his house,

Bismillah, tawakkaltu ala allah,
la hawla wa la quwwata illa bil-lah

[ In the name of Allah, in Allah I vest my trust,
there is no might to resist evil
or to do good except through Allah.]

It is said to him (by the angels):

Your needs are sufficed for (the day),
and you are protected.
And Shaitan goes away from him.

{ Reported by Tirmidhi }

Alahumma infa`ni bima `allamtani
wa `allamni ma yanfa`uni!

OH ALLAH! Make useful for me what You taught me
and teach me knowledge that will be useful to
 me.
