As-salaamu alaykum: (Peace be to you.)

You are no doubt aware of the growing level of Islamophobia in our
society. This fear and hatred of Islam is being promoted and exploited by a
vocal minority whose hate-filled agenda would marginalize and disenfranchise
the entire American Muslim population. This "Islamophobia machine" is targeting
you and your family.

Here's the good news: We're fighting back and we're winning. Today I am
writing to ask for your support to continue standing up against this growing
threat to American Muslims.

A few examples of the growing anti-Muslim bias and hate challenged by
CAIR chapters nationwide:

Anti-Islam advertisements, produced by the hate group
Stop the Islamization of America, began appearing on public buses in Miami. The
ads read: "Fatwa on your head? Is your family or community threatening you?
Leaving Islam?" They also linked to an anti-Islam web site.

Result: CAIR was able to help convince Miami-Dade Transit to
drop the ads. The hate group is now threatening to sue.

An Orlando representative of ACT! for America, a
rapidly-growing anti-Islam hate group, recently bragged in a YouTube video that
he uses pages of the Quran for toilet paper and urinates in the washing
stations use to perform wudu. He bragged: "I like desecrating their [Muslims’]
holy stuff.”

Result: CAIR exposed the group's bigotry and it was forced to
cancel a planned anti-Islam event in the area.

ACT! for America and other anti-Islam hate groups tried to
prevent a respected imam from offering the opening prayer in a session of
Virginia’s House of Delegates.

Result: A CAIR "Action Alert," along with the efforts of
other groups and individuals, helped make sure the imam's prayer went ahead
despite the protest by hate-mongers.

A recent advertisement in a Minnesota newspaper carried
the headline "Does the Islamic Religion Represent a Threat to America?" and
claimed "Moslems [sic] seek to influence a nation by immigration, reproduction,
education, the government, illegal drugs, and by supporting the gay agenda."

Result: CAIR placed an ad in the same paper offering an
accurate portrayal of Islam and Muslims.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca had to defend himself
against aggressive attacks by Rep. Mark Souder (R-Indiana), who grilled the
sheriff in a congressional hearing about his working relationship with the
Muslim community. Rep. Souder was previously quoted as saying of Islam,
"fundamentally, it's wrong," and "I find their religion offensive."

Result: CAIR coordinated support for Sheriff Baca, who stood
by the Muslim community.

The Washington Post published an article about American
Muslims who contacted CAIR to report that they have been prevented from
returning to the United States after being placed on no-fly lists or had their
passports seized without explanation. Another front-page Washington Post
article told the story of an American Muslim soldier who has allegedly been
harassed by other military personnel because of his faith.

Result: CAIR helped the soldier tell his story to the Post,
which resulted in lengthy positive reports on ABC Evening News and
Nightline.

CAIR pushes back against those who attack your faith and your civil
rights.

Our chapters nationwide are responding to other bias incidents, including a
Texas apartment complex refusing to rent to Muslims, Muslim men being detained
for praying in Nevada, acts of hate vandalism at Tennessee mosques, threats
against Muslims in Illinois, and repeated calls for profiling of Muslim
travelers.

CAIR will, inshallah, continue to challenge all forms of Islamophobia,
but we can't do it alone. We need your support to defend the image of Islam and
protect your rights and those of other American Muslims.

Numerous Muslim scholars have confirmed that zakat is payable to
organizations that exist to serve members of the Muslim community by protecting
their rights. This is because the work done by CAIR is classified as
“fi-sabilillah,” which is one of the eight categories of zakat recipients
detailed in the Quran (Chapter 9, Verse 60).

Think of the reward you get when you help relieve the suffering of
another Muslim individual or family.

Don't wait, donate to CAIR TODAY! You will see that the impact of our
work will, inshaAllah, grow even stronger.
All contributions to CAIR are both zakat-eligible and tax-deductible.

      Please consider giving $5,000, $2,500, $1,000, $500, $250, $100, $50,
$25, or whatever you can. We appreciate any contribution you give. Also
consider a monthly recurring donation to support CAIR because this problem will
not go away anytime soon.

We realize that there are many worthy causes to support, but there is
only one CAIR. We look forward to your generous support for this noble cause.
When incidents occur, Muslims expect CAIR to take action. We don't hesitate to
do our job.

Please don't hesitate to support CAIR's important work.

Thank you for your support and may Allah bless you and your family.
