I attended a 2-hour class with Itzik (one of the book's authors) and in those 2 hours learmed more cool SQL tricks than I learned in the previous 2 years (and I'm NOT kidding). I'd recommend attending a seminar give by Itzik if at all possible; this book covers all of the things presented at my class, plus lots more. If you have to do some intensive data processing, this is a great book to have as a reference.
