When writing a score in Latin, I would strongly suggest to indicate with the hyphenation how it should be sung. Therefore, logical hyphenation mistakes like si-cut in Latin or hi-nein in German are to be preferred to avoid insertion of a guttural sound in front of the vowel. I hyphenate sanc-tus and benedi-ctus, because in the first example the -ng- belongs to the first syllable, even though the -ct , being muta, belong to the next syllable. Christof
