I'm not sure why you're crashing. I get

This is pmxab, version 2.1, 8 December 1999
        Opening dirk.pmx

        Starting first PMX pass

         Bar 1Bad error in fnote

Function fnote "returns the real duration of a note." So I'm guessing this
is a Dr. Don problem.

I can verify that the error in fnote (variation 1) and the bad lyric spacing
(variation 2) both still occur in version 2.195.
