On page 18, it says:
\stdbarrules This will cause bar lines to be drawn solidly from
the top to the bottom of each system, maybe cutting through lyrics
in the process.
I can recommend the M-Tx User's Manual, especially when browsed via
its index, to any serious M-Tx user.
