This patch seems to be OK. From a user point of view, one may find it strange that \ behaves as an escape character when inside a quoted string (i.e. for blah\1, if one wants to add double-quotes, one needs to write "blah\\1"), but at least Mutt behaves in a consistent manner (unlike before, where all \ in "blah\\1" were removed after a few steps). -- Ticket URL: <http://dev.mutt.org/trac/ticket/2014#comment:10>
