#3244: please make mutt not modify message on saving or copying (content-length, lines) ------------------------------+--------------------------------------------- Reporter: [email protected] | Owner: mutt-dev Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: trivial | Milestone: Component: mutt | Version: 1.5.19 Keywords: | ------------------------------+--------------------------------------------- Forwarding from http://bugs.debian.org/532766 {{{ When copying or moving/saving messages mutt adds Lines and Content-Length headers. This is necessary for certain mbox formats, because otherwise a line beginning with "From " in the message body is difficult to disambiguate from the next message. However these headers are not usefull for storages likes Maildir or imap. Even worse when moving a message without these headers between Maildir folders the contents change and therefore checksum-based synchronization tools have to retransmit the whole message without this being necessary. It would therefore be a good to not add these headers in the latter case.
Fortunately Emanuele Giaquinta has a short patch for this. All it does is disable adding these headers for Maildir and imap destinations }}} The patch is attached -- Ticket URL: <http://dev.mutt.org/trac/ticket/3244> Mutt <http://www.mutt.org/> The Mutt mail user agent
