I don't intend to close the discussion, but I do mean to discourage both complete handoff and parallel forking. (Forking that intends to reconverge is a normal development process. Forking that never means to merge is competitive.) I do mean to guide this interest in a specific direction. We do have people who have attempted to contribute, who deserve more of our attention. I will give them more, and another committer has volunteered that he may have more time soon as well.
