No, alternative_order change doesn't help me.
When email from apple is received, I can scroll to bottom of this mail,
but there is no information, that this message contains attachment(s). I
have to press "v" to see all attachments. Then I can access them, but
pressing "v" on each message is disturbing. Sometimes email sender doesn't
write, that message contains attachments and then I miss these files.
Here is an example email from apple mail:

Try to open with:
mutt -f apple_test

I miss these lines for this attachment in email preview:
