Try setting $timeout = 5. If that doesn't work, try setting
$imap_keepalive = 5.
(Obviously, only do this for testing).
We are trying to trigger a poll or noop in imap_check_mailbox() in-between
the save and sync-mailbox, so lowering those values should increase the
likelihood to trigger it.
