#3883: incorrect display due to the use of undefined unicode character

With the attached mailbox, the third line of the output of the {{{unicode
--fromcp utf-8 -x e283b4}}} command (which is {{{<U+20F4> (<U+20F4>)}}},
where {{{<U+20F4>}}} is the corresponding Unicode character) is displayed
as a space followed by an opening parenthesis. The closing parenthesis is
missing. The undefined Unicode character is dropped, but this may not be
seen as a bug.
