Well, it's mostly working, and has real improvements at quite a few
points.
But the code base is changing (sometimes rapidly, sometimes more
slowly), and there are quite some portions of the 0.96 code which
are more or less untested.
Just to give you an example, since yesterday evening the interface
to configure mutt for use with pgp looks vastly different than the
one you are used from the stable branch.
There are other, similar points.
