I believe only the very newest procmail versions (recently released)
handle maildir. You may need to upgrade.

You might try the procmail list for procmail help! :-)
Subscribe at <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
as noted in the man page on procmail. That's probably a better
list than any of the others to get help with procmail.
