The installation of Mutt 1.2.5 fails here:

if test -f /users/polka/lefevre/i686-linux/bin/mutt_dotlock && test xmail != x ; then \
        chgrp mail /users/polka/lefevre/i686-linux/bin/mutt_dotlock && \
        chmod 2755 /users/polka/lefevre/i686-linux/bin/mutt_dotlock || \
        { echo "Can't fix mutt_dotlock's permissions!" >&2 ; exit 1 ; } \
fi
chgrp: you are not a member of group `mail': Operation not permitted
Can't fix mutt_dotlock's permissions!

Why isn't there an option to disable dotlocking?
