I love mutt, especially since I have to go through tons of emails
every day. The color-coding and sorting features are very helpful. I
also like to check my mail via ssh from home (opening the same mailbox
multiple times, effectively). I've been suspecting some deleted mails
though...

Yesterday, my fears were confirmed when my mailbox suddenly showed
that my mails for the last 15 days were gone! I thought I would quit
Mutt and restart it. Then, I get the 'writing mailbox...' as it
quit... Oh, that's not a good sign. And, sure enough, my mail for the
last 2 weeks is permanently gone. :'(

I'm going to start opening my mailbox read-only from now on, but I was
curious if someone else has experienced this? I consider this a very
serious bug! I do a lot of purchasing, so I've lost my electronic
receipts for the last 2 weeks, and the tape drive on that box died
earlier this week which further complicates things... doh!

Thanks for any info!

Phil

PS- this is Mutt 1.2.4i on a P2 Linux box. Sendmail 8.11.1
