You need to be a trusted user in sendmail's config file. If your
sendmail.cf has this:
#Ft/etc/mail/trusted-users
Troot
Tdaemon
Tuucp
Then add:
Trooot
If it has only
Ft/etc/mail/trusted-users
or the like, then add "rooot" to that file.
