The number in the square bracket "[1]" indicate tagged messages with "!" mark.
Though, I have noticed that the sidebar behavior have changed in new version of
Mutt.
Previously, when I opened a mailing list (or any other folder) with new messages and re-open them again the number in the parenthesis was cleared; only the
new unread messages were shown in the parenthesis.
Now, the number in parenthesis indicated total unread number of messages, even those marked "O"
Is there a way to revert to old behavior?
