At least you can sign mail, I still cannot, working on that! In the 
post-compose window (where you can add attachments and modify the 
headers), hit 'p' then 's' to sign or 'p' then 'a' to choose 
a key, you can use your 8-Char key, 10-key hex key or your e-mail after 
hitting 'a' to sign-as.
