I've been using xbuffy for a long time on my Solaris workstation (I'm old school, my mail is in mboxes). There were a few things that bothered me about the way the popup displayed new mail headers so I finally got off my ass and fixed those issues. Here is what I did:
- Added a -invert option to invert the order of the mail header info in the popup display so that the newest mail is listed at the top. I've only tested this on mboxes. - Added a -maxrows arg option that will limit the number of rows of mail header info displayed in a popup to avoid the newest header info getting cut off if there are a large number of new messages and -invert mode is on. Again, only tested on mboxes. Other mail store formats may require code change. - Modified the mail header info so that the Subject: field is first and the From: field is indented by three spaces. In case this is of use I've uploaded the bzip2'ed tar file that contains a directory of the source to my public dropbox folder: <http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5297679/xbuffy-my-tweaks.tbz2> If you look for WAF in comments you can see what I changed in xbuffy.[ch]. -- Will Fiveash
