It looks like it takes an existing attachment (e.g. ~/foo.txt) and makes a copy of it to your $tmpdir. The attachment is then replaced with your tmpdir copy (/tmp/foo.txt). Perhaps if you wanted to grab a snapshot of a file that may change, you would use this command. Others may have a better ideas for the use case. -Kevin
