You lost me. Use_from is set but I have no idea what or where $from is.
The way you use it it sounds like a file but I can't find it. The same
with $realname which only exists in .muttrc in connection with a
non-existent macro.

If I come across like a noob, in this area, I are one.

What I finally wound up doing was editing the /etc/passwd using the
information in your reply. It worked but I would still like to
understand the remaining items in your post.
