The people posting on the Verizon support site said that the tech support was pretty clueless, and would try and were happy to walk them through installing Outlook as their solution. One guy who found the answer, who is using Eudora as his client, claims that Eudora has an .ini attribute that is a list of authentications to NOT try. Not really elegant imo. fwiw, Russ
