Hi folks

I have just joined the list as I am thinking of trying Mutt. But what I want to do is just use it for reading and replying to emails from the server rather than downloading headers. Hope you follow me I am not too IT technical.

Why - you might well ask! Using Ubuntu with upgrades every six months I found the way I preferred to set up email was with Alpine reading the imap server. A text client being so much faster than graphical clients like Thunderbird. That's the way I liked it as I found being a teacher I was using the online UI during work time and then Alpine in the evening.

Most email clients don't allow this reading the imap server without downloading headers. Does Mutt and how easy is it to set up? I've downloaded the Woodnotes Guide to Mutt... and I must admit I am finding it hard going.

thanks
james
