I wanted to search for an existing feature request on trac and then post that there, but trac is down (again), so I figured I'd post something here for discussion.

On my IMAP server, I have these folders:

  spam
  spam/spam
  spam/nonspam
  spam/dirty_spam
  Spambots

Mail that is automatically marked as spam gets put into spam. I use spam/spam and spam/nonspam to load training messages, which is why they're named that way. The other folders have other purposes.

When I want to train my Bayesian engine on the server, I want to be able to quickly move a new piece of spam (or ham) into the appropriate folder. However, ":moveto " as is currently implemented does not have the ability to let me specify folders and subfolders.

For example, there is a "Quick File" extension that currently doesn't work with Shredder. That extension let me hit one key and file the message into an auto-completed list. That list searches all folders, so I can type "spam/spam" and it zeros in on what I want.

With Muttator, the best I can do is type "s spam" and then it comes back complaining that it has multiple matches. If I iterate through the "prettyNames" of those matches, I get

  spam
  nonspam
  dirty_spam
  spam
  Spambots

That is, the prettyName doesn't contain any containing folder information.

So someday it would be nice if ":moveto" functioned like the quickfile I mentioned above. I know it's a work in progress... I'm just putting that out there.

Ted
