MAJOR DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS
This position will include interfacing directly with the ACS and Client
Strategic Planning Team.
This position will oversee future Data Network Engineering strategy as
well as ensuring ACS"s strategy is in line with client going forward.
This position will have responsibility for the overall concept, design
and planning of the WAN, MAN and LAN facilities. Must be able to quickly
asses" current environments and provide adaptive solutions.
This position will report to the ACS Network Services Director of
Architecture/Design and Projects, and will be responsible for a variety
of activities and strategic efforts within the Data Network Engineering
arena. The primary role will be to provide strategic and architectural
direction for client Data Network, including WAN, LAN, MAN, Internet,
MPLS and others. The candidate will interact with the customer and
vendors to gather requirements, solutions to meet emerging business
needs. The candidate will be responsible for documenting those
requirements and working with the team (customer, vendors, and internal
engineers) to design, develop and oversee implementations that meet the
customer"s requirements and maximize availability of those systems. This
position will lead the design and engineering tone of the entire team.
This candidate must bring a passion for data networking strategy along
with the ability to set corporate direction for a multi layered business
organization.
Education:
College degree from accredited university (Bachelor of Science in
Engineering or Computer Science preferred). Technical certification in
Computer Science or related telecommunications field is also acceptable.
Juniper JNCIE-SP or a Cisco CCIE or equivalent is preferred but
dependent upon knowledge may not be necessary.
Technical Requirements
Data Network design experience -
Voice network design would be a plus
Knowledge of data networking including TCIP, UDP, RTP protocols.
Research, recommend, and develop implementation of new technology products
SLA Management
Ability to analyze, design and collaborate multiple layer network
architectures
Knowledge of multiple networking protocols
Knowledge of protocol Analyzers
Data Network Capacity Planning
Network Management Systems knowledge
Operational Monitoring tools knowledge including SNMPv2/v3
Product life cycle planning
Product solution management
Behavioral
Excellent customer service skills
Knowledge of the financial aspects around service delivery
Exceptional written and verbal skills including presentation skills

Confident - ability to interface with internal and external customers
