hi
I picked up a rev D3A version of the mediaMVP
with the version 1.0 software I downloaded a couple of later versions but
found the mvpmc appears to be a better option if only i could set it up :)

I figured out that calling mvpmc dongle.bin and replacing the haupage
version would probably install mvpmc and it did.

i didnt do anything about a config file and exploring the file system i
found a few radio stations preloaded and these worked.

unfortunately what i really want to do is to avoid running windows all
together (I can live with booting via windows if I have to) what i really
want to do is use ubuntu throughout my network for everything.

there seems to be a number of stages which need to be gone through before
the mvpmc software is prepared to play

Stage1 is to obtain an address via dhcp.
unfortunately or fortunately my router provides this service. my router
doesnt give me an option of ignoring a mac address and not providing an
address automatically.
I would prefer not to disable the dhcp server in my router and have to
reconfigure my network PC's to run on static ip addresses,

however stage2 requires something to supply the dongle.bin file
does this need to be the dhcp server ?
on ubuntu there seems to be three possibilitys
etherboot or atftp tftp-hpa

I have attempted to configure tftp-hpa to serve dongle.bin but the pc isnt
playing ball

the next thing is to configure the media server and this seems very
difficult too.

any help or advice will be greatfully recieved

regards

john
