Dave,

mvpmc tries to resolve the backend address by using the hostname returned by the backend in a query when starting live tv. This allows multiple backend implementations to be supported but also requires that you add the host name(s) of your backend(s) to the mvpmc /etc/hosts file. To do this, the easiest way is to add echo <ipaddress> <hostname> >> /etc/hosts to your dongle.bin.config file where <hostname> is the hostname of your backend and <ipaddress> is the ipaddress of your backend. The gethostbyname function will check DNS and the /etc/hosts file to resolve to an IP address.
