I've since upgraded to 0.20 and it doesn't crash the backend any more so unfortunately I can't provide a trace. The only way I know to access the grid style tv guide is to press the guide button whilst a video is playing. With a 0.19 backend mvpmc would reboot and the mythbackend process on the server would terminate - no errors in the log. I think it may have been more a result of mvpmc rebooting whilst streaming a file rather than the database query. With a 0.20 backend pressing the guide button still causes mvpmc to reboot although the backend doesn't exit. I see a brief flash of the grid style tv guide and then it reboots.
