Yes, there is a bug present in VLC 0.8.5 which prevents the timecodes to be calculated correctly if they are above a certain number. But there is hope, unfortunately you indicate there is a problem for you with the solution: Upgrade to VLC 0.8.6.
1) Yes, use VLC 0.8.6 2) No idea, sorry. Your particular issue is all about a known bug in VLC. Cheers >>> <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 12/25/2006 17:05:09 >>> I have some myth recordings that I have transcoded from mpeg2 to xvid using mencoder at 900kbps. I am using VLC-0.85 and the standard mvp 0.3.2 download. The skip-forward / skip-back functions work perfectly on 30 minute recordings, but they don't work when playing back 1-hour recordings. The left / right buttons do move things forward/backward 2%, as expected. Connect.log contains the following line repeated numerous times: "VLC: Detected overflow bug - cannot do second seek!" I posted a similiar question on the forums and Martin indicated that Rob, who did all the great work on VLC, doesn't actively follow the forum, so I thought it useful to repeat the question over here. Martin thought that perhaps the message indicates a bug in VLC and that an upgrade to 0.86 would solve it, but I have not been successful in creating a 0.86 build on my Knoppmyth R5D1 install. So my questions are: 1. Does anyone know of a confirmed fix for this problem? 2. A long shot, but has anyone out there figured out how to build VLC 0.86 on a Knoppmyth R5D1 distribution? In the back of my mind I'm wondering if it is a VLC issue or a problem with the client code that talks to VLC from the MVP box... Thanks!
