My experience is that that it is the rtwin. In your original email I forget to check but with NFS you should be running the nightly or the/etc/nfsmount.sh. from the nightly, If you want to play around with the rtwin for the file system, I did add a command line option --fs-rtwin I think that 4096 and 8192 would be good to try if the NFS change doesn't work for you.
