Hi...

Are people happy w/MClient? I'm trying to prioritize my time and
wondered what, if any, are people's preferences w.r.t. new features or
bug fixes. Here are some items people have asked for:

Features:
Slimserver pass word protection. This makes it so only slimserver
clients with the correct pass word will be able to access the slimserver
server. Keeps people out of your data base or from deleting your music.

FLAC support. This stands for Free Lossless Audio Codec and allows for
such play back on the MediaMVP box running mvpmc.org software. However,
this is a bit tricky and will take some time. We might even start a new
branch to experiment as we need to emulate the next generation of
slimserver clients.

Selecting albums by album covers. I saw this feature on the slimROKU
web site and think it would be fun to implement here in MClient.

Controlling other clients. This is where one MClient box could control
(or monitor) what other clients are doing as long as they are all using
the same server. An interesting possibility - but I don't know how many
would be inclined to use it.

Listen to music (MClient) while looking at pictures (File Browser).
Currently we switch both the video and audio hardware between
applications. It might be possible to only switch what is necessary -
allowing for two applications (one audio and one video) to run at the
same time.

Better on line help. The meanings for the buttons on the remote control
are slightly different for MClient then for other mvpmc.org
applications. Also, the remote is different then the normal slimserver
client remote. Some on line help may improve the MClient experience.

Bugs:
Haven't got the buffer reset just right yet. Sometimes the first 4
seconds of a track is repeated.

Haven't got the PLAY, STOP, PAUSE indicator just right. Sometimes it
lags behind the other OSD indicators.

Need to start checking and displaying revisions of MClient as well as
Slimserver and print warnings for bad combinations.

...thanks
