OK, that turned out to be a mysql permission issue -- had to allow access to mythconverg for the mvp's IP address.
But I have two further issues: 1. When I press "schedule recordings", it begins in December 1969 ... so unless I am patient enough to scroll forward several hundred times, I will not see the current TV listings. Do I need to modify some setting? 2. When I press "upcoming recordings", it shows zero upcoming recordings -- when in fact that is at least one.
