I finally got around to running the script on a file in the mythbackend
collection of recordings. The file started out as a OTA ATSC HDTV
recording with AC3 2.1 sound. It ended up as a recording that can play
back on the MVPMC with mpeg stereo. I think the AC3 was wiped out as
the MVPMC digital output is only stereo 48KHz.

However, I couldn't get the sound and video on the MVPMC to sync up. It
appeared to be somewhere between a second and a faction of a second off.
After jumping around it looked better, but never right on. I played
back the same recording with mythfrontend and the recording and audio
were synchronized from the get go and jumping around didn't change that.

So, that's confusing. The video is now playable and clearly has an mpeg
stereo audio attached. I would have guessed the transcoded audio and
video were not in sync with each other if it were not for the perfectly
synchronized playback using the mythfrontend.

So, what's the difference between this transcoded recording and a
recording off my OTA NTSC tuner (which plays back perfectly on my MVPMC
box)?
