Problem:
At best, I get 10% of the audio (little spurts of audio). Picture seems
fine after taking into account some of the extreme compression (some old
TV shows I'm using as reference files)
Info:
833Mhz/512Mb MythTV back end. Not capturing at this time (I'll be
replacing the backend with a faster server and adding a capture card
later in the year).
Latest dongle.bin
I've figured out how the basics of converting video with ffmpeg using
the command line:
ffmpeg -i gs.avi -vcodec mpeg2video -acodec ac3 gs4.mpg
I've tried mp2 and mp3 as the audio codec, but those don't seem to
generate any audio.
Questions:
1. Is there a reference clip out there that I can use to insure that all
of my problems are purely conversion issues ?
2. What are the best ffmpeg settings (or recommend another tool) for mvp
playback ?
3. General question-Do people like using the MVP as a MythTV frontend ?
I like the price, but there seem to be some oddities in the behavior.
For <$100 I'll tolerate a fair amount vs $300-400 for a diskless
mini-ITX system.
Thank you,
Jim
