Yes. Since my earlier message I seem to have got to the next stage,
having found and downloaded dongle.bin.mvpmc-0.3.4 and extracted
the .ver 40 byte file from it using dd and replaced this.

I already have a vast collection of MP3s and photos on my
Linux server. I already
have NFS. Intend to do a lot more exploring of what mvpmc can
do tomorrow.
