Yes, last time I used the actual MythTV frontend, it prompted me with a
dialog just before the recording was to start.  This dialog allowed me
to override the scheduled recording and continue watching live TV, or
allow the switch to the scheduled recording.  As I recall switching to
the recording was the default.
