The ROI just isn't there anymore. Yes, mvpmc could be ported to lots of these new embedded systems, but doing so is a good deal of work. On the other hand, platforms like the Acer Aspire Revo line are available at similar price/size/power and they can function as a fully fledged MythTV frontend out of the box, so there isn't much enthusiasm for further porting efforts.
