Do you have the newest version of the Collection extension and a MediaWiki < 1.13? Due to safety constraints we had to change the way collection pages are saved and are now using the MediaWiki API edit feature. The edit feature is available in MW 1.13 and later (AFAIK) and saving collections should be disabled for MediaWikis that don't have that feature.
