I'm trying to build a package set for installing mwlib-0.12.12 on a Centos 5.4 machine. The default python there is python 2.4, so I'm building a parallel set of RPMs using python-2.6 (which obviously install to a separate site-packages directory, so don't interact with the system ones).
Apart from a huge number of dependencies more than are listed on http://code.pediapress.com/wiki/wiki/mwlib-install, I've hit a problem. After building all the necessary dependencies I can compile mwlib correctly, but when I try to run mw-render I get the error message $ mw-render Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/mw-render", line 5, in <module> from pkg_resources import load_entry_point File "/usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/pkg_resources.py", line 2562, in <module> working_set.require(__requires__) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/pkg_resources..py", line 626, in require needed = self.resolve(parse_requirements(requirements)) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/pkg_resources.py", line 524, in resolve raise DistributionNotFound(req) # XXX put more info here pkg_resources.DistributionNotFound: twisted>=8.2 Which is wrong, because I have twisted-8.2.0 installed on the system. Any ideas where this error is coming from or what to do about it (I'm not a python programmer)? I must be close, but not there yet.
