Baik Dell dan Toshiba menggunakan OS Windows. Sedang MacBook Air menggunakan OS X (10.5) aka Macintosh "Leopard". Bagi yang belum pernah menggunakan komputer Apple, MacBook ini sepertinya tidak menawarkan apapun. Bagi yang sudah menggunakan komputer Apple, Macintosh adalah OS paling handal--sampai sekarang masih bebas virus, tangguh, bebas hang, dll. Harga komputer Apple memang mahal. Namun itu sebanding dengan segala kelebihan yang dimilikinya.
