It is not possible to set up a task to recur on specified months. Suppose, for example, you plant a garden every summer and would like to fertilize it during the summer months. You'd want to specify a task "fertilize the garden" and have it occur May, June, July, August of every year. It is only indirectly possible to specify this right now; you have to set up a task to start in May and recur for a maximum of 4 months. In August you have to enter the task again for the following year or else it will be forgotten.
My suggestion is to add a feature so that when the recurrence pattern button for "Monthly" is clicked that (in addition to the current Monthly options) a set of buttons shows up on the right with a button for each month.
