For the primary To-Do view that I use for working I group by Due Date / Ascending. I also sort by Due Date Ascending. My assumption would be that I get a consistent list that shows all of my tasks in a chronological order.
However, when I have overdue tasks that fall into an age such that they are in the "This Month" group the group falls out of chronoligical sorting and down near the bottom of my list rather than up near the top where it belongs. This has always been a frustration and now seems like a good time to rectify before final release.
