The date that iitems are modified is already tracked under Task
Statistics.

There are probably other ways to meet your need. The new formatting in
MLO 2.5 would be a great way to mark where you last were, such as bold
or a certain color.

If you want to check modified dates for some reason, you can export
your MLO file to Excel and do a date search.
