The Action filter was set to "Active". I now see how the Action filter
should define what items are able to be selected.

However, there's apparently a different bug that threw me off. I was
expecting the Advanced Filter to mimic the Filter Controls. The help
file says for the Active filter "3) Start Date parameter for the task
is not set or Start Date is today or in the past". However, if Start
Date From: is set to "Today + 1" and Hide Undated checked, only future
tasks will appear. According to the definition of the "Active" Action
filter, these should not be showing. The same thing happens if To: is
set in the future to something like "Today + 30"

What's particularly interesting here, is that if From: and To: are
left blank, no future items appear. It is only when future dates are
entered that these future items show up. One would expect that the
blanks would give the complete set, and entering dates would limit the
items displayed, not show more.

So, unless I'm missing something again, there's a bug in the way the
Filter Controls work, or at least a bug in the help file which could
read "3) Start Date parameter for the task is not set or Start Date is
today or in the past, unless a specific future Start Date parameter is
entered". (But then the Advanced Filter should work the same way and
there would be the Advanced Filter bug originally reported).
