Strange thing is that I have kind of similar problem. After hard reseting device, I tried to sync via bluetooth and my unit frozed. Tried 3 times but couldn't get it to sync. Did a search here and came across this post, and tried synching via USB and it worked! After 1st sync, 2nd sync onwards via bluetooth is ok so far.
